Friday Link Wrapup – Font Size, Popups, Twitter, Trello

October 14, 2016 by Debbie Campbell

The top website and marketing links for this week.

How easy is your site to read? Does it have tiny text that makes it tough for some users? The 12px font size became a norm in the late 1990’s/early 2000’s because Mac OS adopted the 12pt font as its default base size. 9-14px fonts were common during this period. By 2011, though, 16px had been adopted by most web designers as a good minimum size. Today, we’re starting to see sites with font sizes of 20px and more. Learn more about trends in font sizes here.

Do you hate popups? Do you use them on your own site anyway? In light of Google’s recent announcement that they’ll begin penalizing sites that use intrusive popups that make it harder to get to content, here’s a good review of the current state of popups and their pros and cons.

If you’re thinking about using Twitter as part of your business marketing, here’s a guide to getting started.

Finally, if you’re a fan of Trello (I am, I use it to manage my projects and weekly business task list), you may not know about Card Repeater, a power-up tool that lets you create new cards automatically for recurring tasks. You can set up new cards to appear at any time interval. Learn more about Card Repeater.
