Content Management Systems

What is a Content Management System or CMS? Basically, it's a web application with two parts: (1) a database that stores your content and (2) a server-side scripting language that retrieves and 'serves' the content to your web browser. It will allow you to edit your content via a control panel that doesn't require programming expertise on your part. If your company or organization makes frequent changes to your web site content (and you should - Google likes it) you should really consider the advantages of a CMS, particularly if you have multiple editors:

  • Avoid maintenance fees by updating your own web site
  • Fresh content as often as you like, 24/7/365
  • Flexible content placement
  • Add unlimited pages
  • Portable site can be moved to any server
  • Many options, including Events Calendar, Site Search, Photo Gallery etc.
  • Control user editing and writing privileges
  • Retheming is relatively straightforward for most CMS platforms

Most CMS packages will be conversions of existing sites, although we develop new CMS sites too. All of our packages include a free initial consultation to discuss your needs. CMS platforms that we use include WordPress, Joomla!, CMS Made Simple, Drupal and others. We can help you choose a CMS that best fits the goals for your website.
